Car BeautyShop, a new beauty brand in the LA area, has raised $100,000 from investors including Alvena Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, and other big names.
The new beauty company, which launched in September with a focus on “natural and organic beauty,” has grown rapidly over the past few years, according to a release.
The company was founded by two women, Cara Zawadzki and Cara Kaczmarek, who grew up in a single-parent household in Chicago.
“I was always into the arts and music, so I started looking into the world of beauty,” Zawdzki said in the release.
“When I heard about Cara’s passion for natural and organic, I knew we had a winner.”
The brand launched in February with two locations: the original location in West Hollywood and a brand new location in Santa Monica, California.
It is now accepting orders for a new location, which will open in mid-November.
It’s been hard for Zawandzki to find enough customers to keep up with her sales, so she has begun looking for more investors.
The two women have already raised more than $150,000 in funding, according the release, and will now be looking for additional investors.
“We’re doing what we can, but it’s not enough,” Zwabdzski said.
“This is a great opportunity for us to continue to build a brand that is uniquely unique, and also really empowering for women and for men to be able to look at themselves in the mirror and say, ‘Hey, I’m not alone.'”
Cara says that her goal is to build “a brand that really is inclusive of all women, regardless of skin type, race, religion, sexuality, or creed.”
In addition to the money raised, the founders will also be making investments in the company.
They’re also planning to expand the brand, and open a second location in New York City.
“Car BeautyShop is a unique company that embodies the mission of Cara, who is dedicated to creating beautiful beauty products for everyone,” the company said in a statement.
“As she puts it, ‘Beautiful is everything.'”
