Now Adding to her legacy, the Queen is getting her first haircut, which will be held on Saturday at Buckingham Palace.
The Royal Household will host the ceremony and Queen Elizabeth, as she is known, will make her first public appearance at a time when the country is mourning the loss of her mother, Queen Elizabeth.
In a video posted to Twitter, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said that the event would be held at 1pm BST on Saturday, adding that the Queen will “do not take any formal oath” but “will make her own public statement”.
The statement also said that it was not yet known when the ceremony would take place.
The Queen’s first public address as monarch was given in 1952, but has only been televised for just under 30 years.
The Queen is currently on a five-day official visit to the United States, where she will speak at the inauguration of the American Civil Liberties Union.
The event is expected to be the first time the monarch has been on US soil since 1953.
The US is the only western country that recognizes the Queen as the monarch of the United Kingdom, while there are no laws against her doing so.
