The president-elect tweeted an image to promote his brand “beautiful” cars, the day after a White House press briefing in which he also called on the auto industry to help his campaign and “make our country safe again.”
In the tweet, Trump wrote, “The American car industry is making great strides.
Now it’s time to turn the page, focus on building a great future, and bring back jobs and prosperity to the United States.
Thank you!”
The president’s tweet came hours after the New York Times published an article about the Trump Organization’s plans to build a new, state-of-the-art auto manufacturing plant in Indiana.
Trump’s tweet was retweeted more than 1,500 times.
“We’re making great progress.
Now we need your help,” Trump wrote.
“Go to https://www.donaldjtrump.com/cars and click the MAKE AMERICA SAFE & WORK FOR ALL sections to see the new plant’s logo, including a beautiful red, white and blue car!”
Trump’s announcement came a day after the Associated Press published a story about the president-Elect’s plans.
Trump, the AP said, has previously made remarks that suggest he will push to cut taxes and raise the debt ceiling in an effort to keep his promise to create jobs.
